Women as deviant (not the norm) men are the generic language, who do you think about when you hear doctor, gardener, etc. Emotions/nurturance women are more emotional, nurturing, not angry (men are supposed to be angry) Dependency/protection women cannot be strong by themselves, they are weaker. Sexual dilemma women are given the message that sexuality are very important, they are sexual objects, but can also be punished for that sexuality. There is a fine line between expressing their femininity through sex, but not too much can be used against her. (not a clear pro or pre- scription. Fear/ambivalence of success success is not necessarily a good thing when you are a woman. Men are taught to strive for things and achievement, but women are given mixed messages about the role of success and who they are and how they construct their femininity. Women feel fearful of success and have a lot more ambivalence towards achievement.
