Document Summary

Acetylcholine (ach) --> most common gets rapidly destroyed by ach-esterase: the message will stay discrete by destroying the nt, don"t want to continue to carry out the message and it"s already been there once. Will see it associate with --> cognition, behavior. Communicate with glands and organs, being the final effector point and telling the effector what to do. All related because all made and looked similarly. Issues with parkinson"s --> dopamine is a problem for people with parkinsons. Most common locations of these 4 are the brainstem or hypothalamus. Things affected: consciousness- like histamines and drowsy levels, mood- like serotonin levels and moods, endocrine regulation- see histamines, norepinephrine, dopamine. Amino acids --> building block for proteins put them together to make proteins. Peptide --> a chain of amino acids (2 or more). Need a peptide before we can make a protein. Basically link amino acids together = peptide = proteins.
