Document Summary
Che 132 lecture 3: thermodynamics continued: a spontaneous process occurs when there is no external energy being exerted onto the process, an example would be ice melting at room temperature. In contrast, a non spontaneous process will require energy in order for it to happen: the time it takes for the process depends on what is happening. If you have no atoms or the max amount of atoms, you will have no entropy because there wont be any room to move around.
