Privilege is not taking something from someone, privilege is having the ability to not give a damn. When you take something from someone, that is when you are taking advantage of your privilege. Ex-nomination: the ability to remove yourself, the ability to not name yourself (ex: no longer saying white female, and just saying person) This normalizes people to being the norm. The understood you of how we understand culture and race. But the abnormal - you must name. The key point of representation is who gets represented and how they get represented. We think of ourselves as human or the same . Whiteness is complicit- a set of values and beliefs; an ideology.
