Document Summary

For this study, i decided to observe students on campus by memory mall; i figured this was the center of campus and anticipated more interaction to occur. I focused my sample primarily on students, ranging in age from about 18-23 years old. I had a more equal representation across the gender spectrum, therefore i tried to record ten male responses and ten female responses. Not every pair responded with this action, but i did notice a common theme that the person being approached typically had some type of slight eyebrow movement. Waving one"s hand is possibly innate because it is a simple way of getting one"s attention and it is universally shared. However, i think the handshakes resemble learned behavior because of the fact that not all communication requires physical contact.
