Document Summary

Restricted in a sense that the wall is restrictive- ribs squashing lungs, obese (not having enough space/capacity) Velcro like sound -crackles lung is so stiff the walls are tearing apart from each other. Unable to recoil or expand as it should. Problem: every time you have injury the repair is an abnormal epithelial repair. Tgf-decrease to decrease the collagen of tissue in the lung. Will eventually become cyanotic due to loss of influx of output/input. Proliferation of soft tissue under nail bed becomes swollen-clubbing of nails (digital clubbing) Treat: lung transplant is only option if bad. Depending on how bad disease is-lung transplant is last option. Granulomas end up making the walls of the lungs stiff. Happens mostly in lungs can occur in skin and eyes. Only takes a few hours/days for the ards to set in. Fluid building up in the lung, less oxygen. Chest wall disorders call for restrictive pulmonary disease but we won"t focus on it much.
