A convicted witch is accused of committing maleficium. In order to get convicted as witch, one needs a confession (torture is the key) or two witnesses to that witch"s evil actions. Main way in which people received witch manhunt was torture. Between 1450 and 1750 in europe over 100000 people were convicted as witches; over half executed. Spectral evidence was like witches flying and showing signs of magic; or aggression towards others and farm animals. Torture was outlawed in england by 1690, resulting in less witchhunts in england.
