Certain things are localized to the brain. Important part are association cortex can take information from everywhere, put it together, and make something of it. Started idea of localization certain things are happening in certain parts of the brain. Area of cortex allotted to body parts varies. How much cortex is devoted to different body parts. Face gets a lot face is very sensitive, speaking, need good control of it (a lot sensory and motor) Hand gets more than foot (can move hand better than foot) Not set in stone brains can be developed differently (like people without arms able to do a lot more with their feet. Broca"s area = programs sound pattern of speech.
