Background and context
Eukaryotic organisms are those which contain a well-defined nucleus and several membrane-bound organelles inside their cells. Prokaryotic organisms are those organisms that lack a well-defined nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. Prokaryotic organisms mostly reproduce by an asexual mode of reproduction (such as binary fission) whereas both asexual and sexual modes of reproduction are found in eukaryotic organisms.
