Background and context

The life span of a plant is defined as the period from its birth to its death. The life cycle of the plant is the various stages it undergoes throughout its life span that including its stages of maturity and then the stage of seed production. Plants can be classified on the basis of the seasons they take to complete their life cycle into annuals, biennials, and perennials. They can also be classified on the basis of their flowering frequency as monocarpic and polycarpic.
