Background and context
The semi-conservative concept, in which each strand of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) acts as a template for the creation of a new, complementary strand, appeared to be based on the structure of DNA. The replication process also occurs differently on both strands. Various complex enzymes are used during the process of replication. These enzymes ensure an efficient replication process throughout the body.
