Background and context

The threadlike structure of ‘nucleic acids’ and proteins is found within the nucleus. These structures are termed chromosomes. These structures carry genetic information. Genes are present within these chromosomes and loci are present within these chromosomes. Loci are the position of allele placement. Both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms have functional chromosomes.
