Background and context

The human eye has several parts, many of which are engaged in preparing the stimuli for the sensory receptors, similar to the human ear. Sound wave energy is increased in the ear before it reaches the sensory receptors. Light rays are brought to a focus on the photoreceptors within the retina in the eye.
