Free man: had sexual freedom even though monogamy was the official rule, had quickies and long term affairs with high class mistresses. Hetaerae: high class mistresses/prostitutes that engaged in long term affairs with married men, more than prostitutes because it was long term, sophisticated, educated, self taught, beautiful, artistic, intelligent, had influence over men they have affairs with.
