Motivation: what are the five needs in maslow"s hierarchy of needs? (know what each need is and be able to recognize what need is being satisfied in a given situation) At the top: physiological then you move to safety social esteem self actualization. Unstatified: esteem and self actualization, because most jobs are specialized. How many people reach this level: very few. Only been able to identify 2 to 3 needs. Not everybody climbs the hierarchy in the same progression. Different people will be in different points in hierarchy, as manager you have to be fleible in motivating different people, tailor rewards to meet their needs. Regress back to next lower level need and get more gratification from that. No job satisfaction, opp of dissatisfaction: no job dissatisfaction. What causes satisfaction and dissatisfaction are two different things: what is a motivator factor and what is it related to in 2-factor theory? (be able to recognize what are motivators on the job).
