The modern state is generally viewed as developing europe and spreading to other parts of the world. The idea developed that the state is an impersonal authority separate from par@cular individuals and from society. Governance- the making and implemen@ng of decisions ooen with the involvement of state and non-state organiza@ons. Civil wars, extreme corrup@on, uncontrolled violence and economic collapse have occasionally shazered states, resul@ng in no e ec@ve governing authority leading the failed states.
