Sociology- the systematic study of human society. Sociological perspective- the special point of view of sociology that sees general patterns of society in the lives of particular people. Large majority married couples are from middle/upper class background. Higher income women expected men to be sensitive, talk readily, share feelings and experiences. Lower income women expected men to not drink too much, not violent, held steady jobs. Power of society to guide our actions, thoughts, and feelings. Not love= sociological perspective shows sex, age, race and social class guide our selection to partner. We are used to thinking people fall in love and decide to marry based on personal feelings and things makes us unique. But the sociological perspective viewed it as the strange idea that society shape what we think/do.
