Document Summary

Psya02: chapter 11: development: motion and emotion (11. 1) hunger and eating. Hunger is a biological drive that influences what we pay attention to and interacts with past experiences and our current mental states. Motivation involve physiological and psychological processes that underlying initiation of goal-orientated behaviours. A drive is a biological trigger that occurs when we are deprived of something this drive causes us to seek out what is needed. When a drive is satisfied, our reward centres are activated in our brains this reinforces our behaviour and makes it more likely that we will keep responding to these drives again in the future. Homeostasis is the body"s physiological processes that allow us to maintain a constant internal state in response to external, environmental changes. Sometimes, our motivations cannot be explained by homeostasis. The experience of anxiety consumes a lot of energy as well as effort in controlling your emotions. It isn"t clear how long these feelings are experienced.
