Health is a global issue; global health is defined as the optimal well-being of all humans from th individual and collective perspective: it is a fundamental human right. Endorses a primary health care approach where essential health care is universally accessible to target population, and is affordable through available resources: aimed at preventing illness and promoting health. Fundamental factors to improving health include: accessibility, public participation, health promotion, intersectoral cooperation, appropriate technology. Nursing research is needed in order to help understand role of nursing in population health, health care, and health care systems. Done by improvements in education, housing, employment, social stability, etc. Nursing organizations have the right and responsibility to support national nursing organizations working in vulnerable nations: forming international partnerships is key. Health professionals should work to raise awareness of the root causes of inequity in global health and participate in finding solutions: nurses uniquely contribute which is valuable to finding solutions.
