There are two different types of internal fit that are currently present in human resources management programs: one with functional area and hr programs. The first one (other functional areas) is very significant. Strategy won"t succeed unless human resources is involved to carry it through. The human resources management plan must be included and present. Human resources management programs must also be consistent with all of the departments as well as sections that are within human resources management. What this means is that recruitment and selection, training and development, occupational health and safety, performance management appraisal in addition to compensation must all work together in order for it to function. Without all of these working simultaneously, the strategy will fail and not work. The training and development program determines what the employees will carry out in their duties and job descriptions through what they are taught.
