PSYCH 1XX3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Vitreous Body, Visible Spectrum, Retina
Document Summary
Of the brain devoted to processing vision. Amplitude in an indication of brightness ( greater amplitude, greater brightness) Light made from a single wavelength is call purelight , natural light is a desaturated combination of many wavelengths. Light first passes through the curved cornea, which begins the focusing process, the cornea is a transparent window at the front of the eye. The rest of the eye is covered by the white part of the eye called sclera, a tougher membrane. After the cornea light passses through the pupil, which the round window that appears as a black dot. The iris ( coloured part of your eye) controls the size of the pupil. After the pupil, light passes through the lense, a transparent structure that does the final focusing of light onto the retina at the back of the eye. Curvature of the lens causes images to land on the retina upside down and reversed from left to right.
