The film i will be analyzing for my final project is saving private ryan. The film, directed by steven spielberg and released in 1998 is an epic war film that follows a group of soldiers as they attempt a rescue mission of another american soldier whose brothers were all killed in action. The film was nominated for 11 academy awards and went on to win five of them including best cinematography, best sound mixing, best film editing and best sound effects editing. I want to utilize the tools we learned about in previous lessons to analyze how spielberg portrays the worth of a soldier"s life and the risks worth taking to bring back a friendly behind enemy lines. I will be analyzing how spielberg accurately brings these world changing wards to life and effectively represents the difficulties a soldier will face while serving for his country.
