Fractures: classification, fracture disruption or break in the continuity of bone, displaced fracture two ends of the broken bone are separated from one another and out of their normal positions. Chapter 62: comminuted more than two fragments, oblique, nondisplaced fracture periosteum is intact across the fracture and the bone fragments are still in alignment, transverse, spiral, greenstick, clinical manifestations. Closed reduction: nonsurgical, manual realignment of bone fragments to their previous anatomic position. Open reduction: correction of bone alignment through a surgical incision. It is not strong enough for weight bearing until about 24 to 72 hours after application. Casts: increase pressure is manifested by pain or a burning feeling in these area. Internal fixation: nursing management: fractures, nursing assessment, neurovascular assessment, nursing diagnoses. Chapter 62: planning, nursing implementation, health promotion, acute care. Other measures: hypercalcemia from demineralization causes a rise in urine ph and stone formation from the precipitation of calcium.
