Romans began to settle on the hills east of the tiber during the early iron age around 1000-800 b. c. e. One of the version involved romulus and remus finding the city of rome around 753 b. c. e. Sons of mars and rhea silvia, descendant of aeneas. Raised by a female wolf and built a city in the hills. Romulus later killed remus and named the city after himself. Romulus expanded power by abducting and marrying their women and later having the women create peace between their brothers and new husband.
