The catholic faith is defined by its nine principles collectively known as the catholic social. The nine key principles are timeless and cover all spheres of life including the economic, political, personal and spiritual aspects; regardless of the contextual period. Human dignity is a human right which bestows respect and honour to individuals. The dignity of an individual today is defined by their materialistic lifestyle in a modern world. The principle of the common good and community is multifaceted and emphasises that what is good comes about by being shared in common with the community (ftpbroadcasts, 2013).
