Document Summary
Discuss movements which occur in the shoulder complex. Attaches to supraglenoid tubercle of glenoid fossa of scapula. Inferior edge of crest of spine of scapula, lateral margin or acromion, lateral border of third of clavicle. Clavicular head (attaches to clavicle), anterior surface of medial half. Attach to crest of spine of scapula wk 8 page 1 of scapula. Supraspinous fossa, attaching to superior facet of greater tuberosity. Attachment = medial 2/3rds of infraspinous fossa and deep fascia. Attaches to middle facet of greater tuberosity of humerus. Strengthens capsule anteriorly to prevent anterior instability, especially in overhead positions e. g. throwing overarm. Stroke (cva) - paralysis of supraspinatus, causing shoudler to drop so more prone to shoulder dislocations. Describe how the anatomy of the gh joint influences joint movement. Scapular neutral position (ideal position) wk 8 page 3. Scapular lined up with spine (not other way around) Spine of scapula in line with t2 spinous process.
