Autistic disturbance of affective contact: (cid:1688)the outstanding pathonomic fundamental disorder is the children"s inability to relate themselves in the ordinary way to people and situations. The children i will present all have in common a fundamental disturbance which results in severe and characteristic difficulties of social integration. Use to be three different categories: autism, aspergers, pervasive . Abnormally restricted interests, inflexible routines and rituals, motor mannerisms, preoccupation with parts of objects. 1 in 68 people meet the criteria, autism prevalence (huge increase from the 1970"s) due to changes in diagnostic criteria. Intellectual disability, memory problems, prosopagnosia, attention deficit, epilepsy, motor disco ordination, language impairment, reading difficulties, sensory hypersensitivity, dietary issues, savant skills. Lack of understanding: people think they are being rude or disobedient. Half of children with autism are bullied. 3 in 4 children feel anxious due to a lack of support. 1 in 6 end up with a full time paid job.
