Mod 1: theories of development bully (can include all other types except instrumental) Direct bullying overt acts, verbal taunts and name-calling (about appearance, ethnicity and socioeconomic status) Indirect bullying covert, designed to affect relationships, incl. spreading negative rumours, ignoring someone, exclusion from group, cyber-bullying. Cyber bullying more damaging, compromising footage, hurtful to one"s image. Cambell suggested that cyber bulling more damaging than face-to-face bullying; larger audience. Capacity to reflect on one"s own thoughts and to distinguish them from other people"s thoughts or ideas (hoffnung et al, 2011) Empathy ability to vicariously experience the emotions of another person develops at an early age.
