Pd in infancy: crawling: improvements in visual perception, wariness of heights, spatial search strategies and brain development. However, there appears to be a delay in spatial search for infants whose crawling is delayed: walking: line of sight moves forward and upward and more independent which relates to socioemotional development. Their language development as they interact with their environment in new ways, prompting parents to respond by talking about their environment, building vocabulary. There is a positive relationship between physical activity and academic achievement: social outcomes: social skills and reduced isolation, emotional outcomes: reduced depression, anxiety, stress. Increase in self-esteem and confidence: cognitive outcomes: concentration, memory, and learning.
