High risk colon cancer and control track along equally initially (lack of divergence in first year) and then there is an increase in cardiovascular adverse effects in the high risk group. Cannabis: known effects appetite stimulation/anti-nauseant analgesia sedation psychoactivity. Structural modification of known active agent to turn it into a cb1 receptor agonist. Indicated for pain and some nausea dependence liability interaction with depressants (eg alcohol) Withdrawn (2008) adverse effects of suicide and depression. Interest remains in peripheral actions on lipids and in treatment of cravings dependence (nicotine, alcohol etc) Cb2 receptors primarily in cells of immune system, bone mass regulation and peripheral neurones. Deals with pain, regulation of bone mass, and inflammation in immune cells.
