32 views6 pages

Document Summary

Ventral(anterior) primary rami come from c5-t1 section of the spinal nerves. Each division has a posterior and anterior branch: anterior divisions are motor and sensory for anterior of limb, posterior divisions are motor and sensory for posterior of limb. The division joins to form cords: anterior divisions of the upper and middle trunks form the lateral cord, anterior division of the lower trunk forms the medial cord, all posterior divisions converge to form the posterior cord. Cords into nerves: radial nerve from posterior cord, ulnar nerve from medial cord, median nerve from parts of medial + lateral cord, musculocutaneous nerve from lateral cord. It supplies the coracobrachialis, biceps brachii and brachialis muscles, as well as the skin of the lateral forearm. It passes through the coracobrachialis and gives off the lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve as a branch. Lateral cord anterior side motor innovation at the forearm. It goes all the way from medial cord to the elbow without branching.
