Prezygotic isolation: impedes mating or fertilization between different species
Postzygotic isolation: results in hybrids that are inviable or infertile
Dobzhansky-Muller Incompatibility
- Incompatibility between two lineage as each lineage requires new adaptive
alleles in its environment which leads to species barrier
Allopatric populations:
Parapatric populations: Side by side
Sympatric populations: Over lap
