Why should organisations are interesting in being ethical

●Offers consistency
●Produces good business

●Avoids unfavourable publicity

Ethical Theories
Provide a foundaon for solving ethical problems we may encounter. There are number of categories
relang to ethical theories but we will look at rule versus consequences approaches.
Rule Oriented Approaches
●There are rules
●Rules must be followed despite the consequences
●Examples:
○The gold rule : legal interpretaon that takes into account the sense of words)
○Human rights : law governing our rights as people
○Kant : based on the philosophy of Kant
○Ten Commandments
Consequence Oriented Approach
●Making decisions based on the consequence
●No fixed rules
●Each decision must be made on a case by case basis
