On completion of this week"s online and in-class activities, you will be able to: explain the legal concept of consent. Common law, every competent adult can consent to and refuse medical treatment. Parental authority not absolute for blood transfusion. If parent says no to blood for child, human tissue act says they can still get it: understand the legal requirement of consent.
