The case study shows that the healthcare facility has been preoccupied with providing equality for their patients by giving everyone equal opportunity to make appointments and be cared for when unwell. They have however lacked the ability to provide equity in their care by considering the cultural differences and making sure that all people have the supports required to be on the same level. This is something they are rectifying by using the. National safety and quality health service standards for aboriginal and torres strait islander people. By implementing these services, they are making their facility equitable for all patients. I would first ask the friend why they feel this way and delve into their education and personal culture to assist in understanding. I would listen to what they say and use open- ended questions to encourage more information. I would then try to link this with the services that are being offered for indigenous peoples.
