Project Evaluation
What is evaluation?
- Attributing value to an intervention by gathering credible and valid
information about it in a systematic way, and by making comparisons, for the
purposes of making more informed decisions or understanding causal
mechanisms or general principles
oWhat the commonwealth are using
- A structured way of finding out:
oHas the project implemented the activities they said they would
oHave the things that the project has done produced the changes that we
wanted to produce (intended outcomes)
oWhat were the things that we did that worked
What didn’t work
What do we need to change if we do a similar project again
- What it is:
oSolely for the bean counters
oHelpful for you as well- client work
oSystematic
oPractical and pragmatic
oPushing for changes and future projects
