How cognitive science can help you get through school. The theory is that people type too much on the computer, and when people write by hand they are forced to process it and summarize. This leads to deeper processing. on: also, you are more easily distracted by the web if you have a computer. In my class, if you"re going to do something other than paying attention: process your notes later with flashcards, doodling can help you pay attention. Mind has a hunger for stimulation: too easy or too hard your mind detaches. Therefore doodling allows your please sit at the back. mind to be occupied so that you can listen to a boring leture. Learning styles: there are some interesting theories, but the scientific evidence that people have different learning styles is weak, pashler, h. ; mcdaniel, m. ; rohrer, d. ; bjork, r. (2009). Best time to study is right before you are likely to forget it.
