Document Summary
Adjudication process: the formal process where judges make decisions. We have many conflicts and we deal with them in formal and informal. We see as formal better however that is not always the case. They produce more party satisfaction, cheaper and reduce load on court. Formal resolutions take a lot longer, are expensive and don"t always lead to the best resolution for the participants. Courts don"t just merely decide cases, they do other things. Which is a good thing so it is a deterrent and makes you use informal methods. Educative: forcing parties to deal with each other. Courts also decide when to end disputes. whether its resolved isn"t the courts issue. 90% of criminal cases never reach the court. Reason for this is because it is risky and expensive, so people instead settle instead of going to jail or spending too much money. Judge now basically approve or disapprove a lot of deals.
