Dsm criteria for agoraphobia: the examples are not exhaustive. Other situations may be feared: when experiencing fear and anxiety cued by such situations, individuals typically experience thoughts that something terrible might happen. Generalized anxiety disorder: excessive anxiety or worry about a number of events. Occurring more days than not for at least 6 months: difficult to control worry and to keep worrisome thoughts interferes with tasks. 3 additional symptoms/only 1 item is required in children: restlessness, easily fatigued, difficulty concentrating, muscle tension, sleep disturbance. Specific phobias: subtypes: animal type: animals or insects. 8% prevalence: natural environmental type:objects in the natural environment. 13% prevalence, blood-injection-injury type: seeing blood/injury/receiving injection 3% prevalence, situational type: specific situation. 13% prevalence: other type: fear is cued by stimuli not covered by one of the other types. Social anxiety disorder (social phobia) fear or anxiety of social situations where individual may be judged by others.
