Personality: big, includes many different things, the stuff inside us, the things that each of us bring to where we go, about regularity, consistency over time. In some ways people are: henry murray: like all other people. Basic needs and capacities: sdt, language: some things that all human begins tend to share ways in which we are all alike, self determination everyone has basic needs, the capacity for language, like some other people. Individual & group differences: traits, gender, etc: where most personality research happens, traits some people are higher in emotional stability, some lower, different from some people and similar to other people, like no other person. Where does personality come from: evolution, genes, prenatal experience, early temperament, development. In families, cultures, places, & random events: processes of evocation, selection, etc, maturation, increasing cognitive complexity, continuity & change are normative.
