Last week finishing off chapter 5 (midterm 1) Clinical interview: talking with and asking questions of client. Pre set questions; clinician has paper, asks questions and codes answers himself. Symptom reporting: through interview, observation, and gathering from other sources the clinician fills out symptom report. Also a questionnaire, but done by clinician, after some bit of assessment (interview, observation, family) Gathering data into an assessment eg. clinician-rated dimensions of psychosis symptom severity. Domains (hallucinations, delusions) > rate on scale of (equivocal severe) (present / not present) Generic series of question the therapist works through, but can veer off in different directions. Onset questions asking about onset (how did this begin) Psychological tests: eg. mmpi, intelligence tests, behavioural assessment. The d2 test of attention: asses ability to focus and maintain concentration, do they loose focus, do they slow down as their progressing through attention test.
