Religion has been instrumental in shaping modern day capitalism. People were encouraged to venture their money in capitalist endeavors. Bibby (author of new society) argues that we should consider the following dimensions of religion to assess its impact upon us: belief (in god). Experience (see or speak directly to god): knowledge (knowledge of the bible etc. 7/10 believe in life after death: 6/10 pray at least once a month, this seems to support the importance of religion in canada, butonly 1/4 consider religion to be "very important" to them.
