Day 3: history of evolutionary theory continued [jan 13] Darwin published his book on the origin of species in 1859. He published five more editions of the origin over the next 25 years. He also published many other books such as: The descent of man and selection in relation to sex. The variation of plants and animals under domestication read much but not interested in classes except for chemistry formal education as youth did not interest him. He was interested in natural history when he was young. Went to edinburgh at 16 to study medicine. After two years he went to cambridge to study for clergy. Obtained a degree but thought it was a waste of his time. Met a geologist sedgwick and toured wales with him learned from him that science is grouping facts so that general conclusions may be drawn from them .
