Many single factors were proposed but we don"t know. A lot of things can make them sick. Parasitic mites (2 species + genetic variants) To study this problem, you need to do it scientifically. Coincidence of ccd with first bees imported from australia to usa and discovery of iapv. Further study: iapv was isolated from usa bees collected before ccd! Lab: able to control exactly where they came from, control a lot of things. You can always find something that make them hard to generalize to bees in their natural environment.
