Germinal period: the irst 17 days of prenatal development ater concepion, characterized by rapid cell division and the beginning of cell difereniaion: within hours ater concepion the zygote begins to duplicaion and division. Embryo: from week 3 to 8 ater concepion during which the basic forms of all body structures, including internal organs develop: week 4: head appears with eyes ears, nose and mouth. Minuscule blood vessel that will come the heart starts to pulsate: week 5: arms and legs are developed. Once your baby has come to full term the fetal brain signals the release of hormones, speciically oxytocin, which prepares the fetus for delivery and starts labour, the mother"s body also has to be ready as well. First labour is usually about 12 hours, where the second labour is about 7 hours. Breech: when the baby is being delivered you want its head to come out irst, however a breech baby"s legs and cord come out irst.
