Traditional europe and its place in the world [before 1500]! It was small relative to other land masses of the planet; part of another piece of land! Eurasian triangle: the geographic features i. e. mountains, forests, all come together at the tip of the triangle. It was comparatively easier to travel back and forth from the eurasian space than from north america to south america & vice versa! Silk carried from china to european markets ! Pigs, chicken and ducks breeding ground for zoonotic bacteria, travelled across most easily. Thus, the diseases and immunity against diseases between asia and europe were shared. Medieval map: called ot map (obis terrae), re ect the medieval european sense of the world; centre of the map was the middle east ! Asia represented the north it was the largest, so it was the dominant land mass ! Waldseemuller map: 1507, new world , includes north + south america !
