Lizard brain: most primitive parts of the brain that we share with other species. These primitive parts are responsible for life-sustaining functions. Brain research: studying what part of the brain is active when you do something. Dissections allow scientist to determine the structure of the brain, see how things are connected. Damaged/abnormal brains: you can see how a damaged part of the brain affects you. The left hand is controlled by the right side, vice versa. The right-side affects your vision on the left. The left side is responsible for processing languages: neuroimaging: functional vs structural techniques. Functional show brain activity in living brains such as pet and fmri scans. *neuromarketing: people who scan your brain to see what product stimulates your pleasure senses and base their products according to their findings* Changing the brain (chemical numbing): they see what happens if one part is turned off.
