Cogniion: awareness, thinking, and speciic mental acts. Telling what they are experiencing: personalizing cogniion. Percepion: how we impose order into the diferent things we take into our senses. Interpretaion: how we make sense of things that we experience, explanaions we might give for diferent situaions. Conscious goals: people"s goals and what they think about them, do they think it"s achievable. Field-dependent: people who are inluenced by environmental cues, tend to favour the social sciences, they pay atenion to people"s social cues. Field-independent: people who are inluenced by inner (self) cues, favour the natural sciences, math, engineering and tend to be more interpersonally detached, beter able to screen out distracing info and focus on a task. Police oicers higher in ield independence tend to do beter in shooing tasks and in chases. Reducer-augmenter theory: the dimension on which we difer in our reacion to sensory simulaion (light, sound)
