SOC 1100 Lecture 9: Deviane - Dead head Society
Document Summary
The dead head society mainly consisted of people of lower social class and was formed by being fans and followers of the grateful deadheads . With the help of the observation we could tell that they had high levels of reciprocity as they were relatively not violent with police as they strived to help, love and respect others. In addition to that there was reported use drugs from the 60"s such as mushrooms. Nevertheless there was some degree of social control as their society was organized in a way that they had dead head vigilantes which tried to control and take authority in situations like drugs and others of the same sort. With durkheim"s basic insight of a structural functional analysis, responding to the deadhead deviance brought lots of people together as it affirms their value, traditions and their informal understandings that govern their behaviour in the society. The most fruitful method to come to terms with.
