Mmpi: done by professionals to assist in identifying personality traits. Hathaway & mckinely: number of questions of true and false. They found that particular personalities in similar ways. One of the first theories to study people"s aggression. The existence of frustration leads to aggression. The model is that we have to have frustration before it leads to aggression. The researcher modified it later because not always frustration leads to aggression. Modification: frustration creates the readiness to act aggressively. Emotion and expectations: expectations to succeed and failing can lead to aggressive behaviour. Operant conditioning: when people are rewarded for a certain behaviour they will continue to do that behaviour even if the reward is taken away. (molding the people"s behaviour). Another important theory: social learning (modelling theory: observation: he took this learning process and applied it to aggression -> aggression is a learned behaviour. You learn to be aggressive by watching other people.
